    Hello Scarpan,

You are on the right path; you have to check the option "allow authentication" for the outgoing server. But it seems even doing that has not helped you, probably port 25 (that is smtp port) is being blocked. To check that you can follow the below steps:

    1) Click on start > run > type cmd or command > click "ok"
    2) Now write the command TELNET mail.domainname.com 25.

On doing this you will get connected to the mail server via Telnet that proves that port 25 is not blocked. If that is not the case then you will get an error while trying to connect. Contact your ISP if the port 25 is blocked.

If you have enabled the firewall then either disable it and try or allow the port 25 in it.

If all this does not work then give me your ISP name and the screen capture of the eudora email settings..I will try to sort out your issue
